So you found yourself wondering...
What the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks is Katie Doing This Year?
Well, you, my friend, have found the perfect place to read. Before we get to this year, let's take a stroll back in time to Summer 2017. Set the scene: Donald Trump is President, I head towards my last year at Lebanon Valley College, a casual sunset shines the orangey-pink light of a new beginning over the rural Pennsylvania town of Malvern I call home. A thought comes to mind: What will I do when I graduate? To be honest, this was not an original thought. It had been tossed around several months before at a family dinner. Proposed by my grandmother in casual conversation, the topic took a turn for the worse with my simple answer: "I have no clue." I had some opportunities for jobs in my field and some applications printed but not filled, but I have never been one to fluff my answers into something others want to hear. I had no clue.
After much research and plenty of consideration, I decided to put myself out there and apply for a Fulbright Award through LVC. I still had not been set on any career I could attain with only my BA in Music and, frankly, if I want to get my Master's in Music by research, I want to do it abroad.
So, long story short, here I am, a year from then, heading to the UK on a Fulbright Scholarship to achieve my MRes Music degree at Bangor University.
